Well, that’s another year of my life gone – how time flies!
I seem to remember this time last year talking about Brexit and its possible impact both on my business and that of my clients. Hmm, shall we just leave that one there? Let’s not dwell on it!
I’m proud and happy to say that 2019 has been a year of quite rapid growth for KL Secretarial Services. This is due to two reasons:
- An increase in my client base – both regular and ad-hoc
- Some of those clients have been through exceptionally busy periods during the course of the year
I’ve loved working with some great businesspeople across a broad spectrum of industries, so it’s all good!
I try to work in chunks for clients, so I’m not ‘bitting and bobbing’ too much. However, this isn’t always possible due to the operational needs of each client. The greatest number of clients I’ve worked with in any single day is five, all in different industries. I love that it keeps me on my toes – never a dull moment around here! The service I provide really is bespoke and tailored to the individual needs of each client.
The amount of proofreading I undertake has increased this year. I’ve carried out this service for the first time for a couple of existing clients, which led one to remark, 'You have an amazing eye for detail.' I allowed myself a wry smile – there are those who would have replied, 'You should try living with her!'
A lot of what I do is about being organised on behalf of clients. While they’re busy getting on with running their own business and looking after their own clients, I’m the little voice on their shoulder saying, 'Have you remembered XYZ?' Again, there are those who would say, 'You should try living with her!'
While I love what I do and have had a great year doing it, I’m hoping for a little break with family over Christmas. A trip to see the seals at Donna Nook is in the diary. It will be a great chance to combine family-time with my hobby of photography. Here’s a shot I took there a couple of years ago. I’m hoping to improve on it this year but, with a new lens to try out anything could happen!
As usual, I can’t end without my customary shout-out to my amazing clients, and to family and friends who’ve supported me throughout the year.
Here’s to 2020!
